Mountain Ministries Set To Hold Summer Kickoff Event On July 19

Mountain Ministries is a new worship organization dedicated to bring together followers of Christ and the Lord’s word; one that isn’t contained or confined by time restrictions.

Al Stoker talked about that and more with Matt Drzik on the June 13 edition of A.M. Beaver County. He talked about the inspirations that brought Mountain Ministries to life, the beauty of the worship site Prayer Mountain (now in its 50th year), and what separates it apart from the traditional church.

He also talked about Mountain Ministries’ upcoming Summer Kickoff Worship Service, including a performance by local bluegrass group Echo Valley. Lizzy Anderson was also in studio representing the group, and she spoke of how she and the others felt about performing for Mountain Ministries, and the parallels between the ministry’s beliefs and her own.

Soma Gathering’s Marc de Jeu Focus Of June’s “People Purpose Planet”

On the second Tuesday of every month, Dr. Peter Birchler from the Chiropractic Health Center in Chippewa hosts “People Purpose Planet”, a show that focuses on local non-profit organizations that are making an impact in Beaver County–and by association–the planet.

For June, Dr. Pete is putting the spotlight on the Soma Gathering in Beaver Falls, and current Pastor Marc de Jeu joined him as well as A.M. Beaver County host Matt Drzik on June 11. de Jeu talked about what inspired him to start Soma in Beaver Falls, the seeking of connection between church and city, the pursuit to rid worship of the downfalls that plagued other churches, and possible expanision of the ministry.

Rick Plassmeyer Talks About BC’s Relay For Life On June 15

The struggle for cancer is a tough battle that seems unending. But that won’t stop many county citizens from joining the fight, including those attending the 24-Hour Relay For Life at Brady’s Run Park on June 15 & 16.

Rick Plassmeyer, himself a two-time cancer survivor, is a head coordinator for the Beaver County Relay For Life. He joined Matt Drzik on the June 10 edition of A.M. Beaver County to talk about this year’s event, which will have the theme of “Superheroes”. Rick discussed the 24 hour nature of the event, the good food and entertainment that will be had, and the stories of the past that make this event a yearly success.

10th Annual Rochester Chili Cook-Off Displays Some Good Taste

As per annual tradition, several local businesses (including Beaver County Radio) brought their chili out to the 2019 Rochester Chili Cook-Off on May 22 at the Brady’s Run Lodge. WBVP/WMBA–along with Nesmith Catering, D&G Pizza of Center, Summertime’s Feel Good Foods, and Brady’s Run Grille–competed for top honors by the judges as well by the dozens in attendance. Summertime’s was the big dog on campus this time around, winning both the Judges’ and People’s Choice awards.

Pirates Treasure Chest Makes Appearance @ Pools, Spas & More

The weather was perfect for the occasion, as Matt Drzik, Walter Equels, Diane Brown and Mark Peterson came down to the newly relocated Pools, Spas & More down at the Hopewell Shopping Center. Along with them came the Pirates Treasure Chest, as well as the legendary Prize Van and Personality Prize Wheel! On top of that, Pools, Spas & More put out a great spread for the occasion, with assistance from Two Chefs Catering and Ricci’s Homemade Sausage.

Toni Sadecky From United Way Is Guest On “People Purpose Planet”

Every month, Dr. Peter Birchler from The Chiropractic Health Center in Chippewa presents a local non-profit organization in Beaver County that gets spotlighted on A.M. Beaver County, and receives proceeds from the CHC for the month.

For May, Dr. Birchler is again choosing the United Way of Beaver County as his spotlight non-profit, and allocation officer Toni Sadecky joined Dr. Pete and Matt Drzik on A.M. Beaver County to discuss the United Way. Sadecky talked about what it means to be an allocation officer, the end of the fiscal year, and the dinner at Shadow Lakes that is open to the public. Toni and Dr. Pete also discussed the connection between profit and non-profit businesses when the former looks to help the latter.

Tom McCormack Discusses Farming Bees And Helping Amputees

For over two decades, Tom McCormack has made trips to Panama in order to help out the lower-income citizens that have trouble with mobility and are in need of body parts.

Tom, who runs McCormack Apiaries in Aliquippa with his wife Linda, is co-head of the Thomas L. & Linda J. McCormack Foundation that makes these annual trips to Panama to bring down supplies to the people of the area. He spoke to Matt Drzik on A.M. Beaver County about the upcoming trip(s) for 2019, how he transitioned from bee farming to prosthetics, the economic disparity in Panama, and how the kids in Panama receive small gifts through toys and books.

Special Guest On A.M. Beaver County With Matt Drzik

Tom McCormack, who is co-head of the Tom & Linda McCormack Foundation and McCormack Apiaries in Aliquippa joins Matt Drzik on A.M. Beaver County to talk about his upcoming mission trip to Panama, where he helps amputees and citizens of the area by applying prosthetic appendages and giving them transport equipment (wheelchairs, walkers, etc.). Dr. Cyril Wecht Joins Matt Drzik To Discuss Upcoming Lincoln Park Show

“An Evening Of Pathological Conversation” with Dr. Cyril Wecht will be coming up on Saturday May 11 at the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center. Dr. Wecht will talk with Pittsburgh media personality John McIntire about some of the more famous cases he’s worked on, including the deaths of JFK, JonBenet Ramsey, and Kurt Cobain.

Before the May 11 show, Dr. Wecht called in to the May 6 edition of A.M. Beaver County to promote “An Evening Of Pathological Conversation”. He talked with Matt Drzik about his thoughts on the deaths of John Kennedy and Michael Jackson, the part of his analyses that don’t reach the common-knowledge sector, and his “movie career” based on his pathological work.

Senior Day At The Mall Will Be Happening On May 8

The Senior Day At The Mall is returning to the Beaver Valley Mall on Wednesday May 8, focusing on Health & Wellness for the senior citizens of the county and surrounding areas. The event is presented by the Beaver County Office On Aging.

BCOA representatives Angela Gentile (Program Monitor) & Erin Shannon (Senior Day Coordinator) joined Matt Drzik on A.M. Beaver County to talk about this year’s event, including the different local businesses and groups that will be on hand to provide medical information and services, as well as the entertainment and food that will be provided.

Also, Beaver County will be there with the Personality Prize Wheel from 10 until Noon, and Frank Sparks & Ed Hermick will be broadcasting live during Teleforum.
