Margaret E. Tolbert
Betty is survived by her children, James Samuel Tolbert Jr. (Jamie) and daughter-in-law Sharon of Meadville, PA, Marlis Hanson and son-in-law Scott of Colorado Springs, CO, and Amy Tolbert of Minneapolis, MN. Her true pride and joy are her grandchildren and one great-grandson, James (Jim) Samuel Tolbert III and granddaughter-in-law Ashley, great-grandson Charles (Charlie), Matthew Stewart Tolbert and granddaughter-in-law Linnea, Miranda Elizabeth and Rayna May Hanson, and Alexis Grace and Alyssa Florenz Parra. Betty is also survived by nieces and nephews, all dearly loved. Betty has many long-time friends from Beaver County and New Sewickley Township, where she spent most of her life, and friends from Cranberry Township, when she and Jim moved to Sherwood Oaks retirement community in 2004.
Betty graduated from Rochester High School in 1946, and met her lifelong love, Jim, right after his return from serving in the US Army during World War II, at a dance. They married in 1947, and were blessed with 62 years of marriage prior to his passing in December 2009.
Betty enjoyed working at the Bell Telephone Company of PA for 38 years, training switchboard operators at large companies. In 1984, Betty began her own training and development firm, MST Associates, and received a degree in Human Resource Management from Point Park College in 1986. Betty designed and conducted personal and professional development training sessions which she presented within companies, colleges, and non-profit organizations throughout western PA, helping others learn to present themselves at their best and live their best lives. In retirement, she presented sessions on cruise ships, which allowed her to continue helping others while traveling with her husband at the same time.
Betty had a great love for theater, supporting and participating in the Red Barn Theater and Comtra Theater, among others, for decades. Betty was a life-long member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rochester, PA, and has also enjoyed Hope Lutheran Church while living in Cranberry Township. Living at Sherwood Oaks retirement community has been a pleasure, where she appreciated new friendships, entertaining get-togethers, and fulfilling activities and outings. She received the best care during her years in skilled nursing and truly loved all of her caretakers, who loved her back.
Betty and her husband Jim knew how to enjoy life, spending winters for about 20 years during their retirement in Florida, and taking trips throughout the world. For their entire marriage, Betty and Jim spent summer weekends at their family vacation home in Conneaut Lake, PA, and in retirement, Betty dedicated volunteer time for the Preservation Society of Conneaut Lake Park. One volunteer said, “Even more than the bands and beers and good times I’ve enjoyed there, the one thing I will remember most is Betty’s enthusiastic voice echoing through the Beach Club as she thanked and encouraged us at every volunteer weekend.”
Service to others was her strongest passion, providing community service throughout years of active involvement in Women’s Club of Beaver Valley, General Federation of Women’s Clubs-PA, Women’s Business Network, American Society of Training and Development, Point Park College Women’s Center, and New Sewickley Kiwanis. She acted as a mentor to other women and a supporter of community causes, and received great pleasure in helping others. Betty’s wish is that, while grieving her loss, you find a way to comfort other hearts by doing something nice for a stranger, neighbor, or friend. There, you will find her comforting you.
Most importantly, Betty was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her boundless energy, passionate dedication to serving others, enthusiastic attitude toward life and good times, and love for her husband, family and friends will be remembered by those who knew her.
A private funeral and committal service will be held at the WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME INC. in Rochester, PA. All family, friends, and acquaintances are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life memorial service at Hope Lutheran Church, 8070 Rowan Rd, Cranberry Twp., PA 16066 on December 16, 2023 at 12 noon followed by a luncheon at the church. You are encouraged to bring a memory to share about Betty to this celebration. The family encourages gifts in Betty’s memory be given to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 393 Adams St, Rochester, PA 15074, Hope Lutheran Church, 8070 Rowan Rd, Cranberry Twp., PA 16066 or the Recreation Therapy Dept. at Sherwood Oaks, 100 Norman Dr., Cranberry Twp., PA, 16066, which kept Betty active and happy, when she had looked forward to the activities of the day for many years.

Veronica B. Guile
Born on March 5, 2000 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Ronald B. and Susan B. (McCready) Darnell, Ronni was an absolute answer to prayer (literally!) Ronni was homeschooled and graduated high school in 2019. She attended Geneva College– graduating Summa Cum Laude with a dual degree in Media Communications and Writing in 2022. There she met the love of her life, Michael Guile, and they married one week after their graduation.
Ronni found a career and employer that she absolutely adored right out of school with Portage Learning. She was in the process of continuing her education at Duquesne University, pursuing a Masters in Communications and Rhetoric with dreams of obtaining her doctorate.
Ronni was loved exponentially and is survived by her husband, Michael S. Guile, her parents, Ronald B and Susan B (McCready) Darnell of Beaver Falls, PA, her siblings Bert A Darnell of St. Joseph, MO Arden R. (Darnell) and Robert G. Pfender of Pittsburgh, PA, Samuel W. Darnell and Kaitlyn E. (Trenary) Darnell of St. Joseph, MO and her precious niece, and goddaughter, Lucy Beth Pfender and many adoring aunts, uncles and cousins.
Ronni was the most intentional, genuine and caring individual. She made a huge impact on so many lives in the short amount of time we had her. She almost always had a smile on her face and had a habit of attracting hurting souls and giving them joy and love. She often played mediator and worked hard to bring harmony. She rarely, if ever, raised her voice, using instead a pen to make her voice heard.
Her favorite things in life were her family, friends, books, coffee, biscotti, and most of all, the Lord. She was so much like the books she loved—full of ideas, of possibilities, and abounding in hope for a kind and precious world that reflected God’s love. Memories of her doing anything mean are nil, but she did have a sense of humor—painting her brother Sam’s keyboard with sugar water as a well-deserved joke. Ronni was always easy to spot as she loved color, bright patterns, and expressing herself through fashion. She was always true to herself. Her nickname was Ronni Bee, so when you see a bee, think of her. They both share sweetness with every living thing in their path.

He was born January 12, 1930, at home on College Hill, to Malfred and Mary E. (Chiappetta) Tunno. He was an exceptional individual who could do a multitude of things to near perfection. He would describe himself as a “Jack-of-all-trades, Master of none”. Almerig was a very patient and talented individual.
In his early teens, during World War II, Almerig learned the art of shoe repair, and helped his father in his shoe repair shop on College Hill for several years. He graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1947 and attended Geneva College for two years. He transferred to Carnegie Institute of Technology (Now Carnegie Mellon University) graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Samuel R. “Sam” Contino
A life well-lived doesn’t end any more than music ends…it echoes through time with whispers on beauty and grace. If we listen, we can hear the encore with our hearts, for the song plays on, just as love lives on. (unknown)
Samuel R. “Sam” Contino, 91, of Chippewa Twp., peacefully left his earthly life on Sunday, October 8, 2023 in Cambridge Village.

He was the proud owner of a Steinway Concert Grand Piano. He loved giving private concerts in his home and giving piano lessons to many students from age 6 to 81.

Ted was born on August 21, 1948, in Columbus, OH and moved to Baden in 1964 with his family. Despite the hardships of his illness, Ted was always loving, generous, upbeat and devoted in his faith in God and his love for his family.
Ted is survived by his loving wife Yong, with whom he recently celebrated 50 years of marriage, as well as his daughter Jennifer, both of whom dedicated the last several years to providing him the highest quality caregiving so that he could remain in his home.
