Applications are now open for BC CATCH

Created by the Beaver County Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Butler Agnew & Associates, this new program helps local small businesses and nonprofits strengthen their financial systems through expert guidance, practical training, and personalized support.

Approved participants receive:

  • A personalized accounting software assessment and needs analysis
  • Customized accounting procedures and a monthly close checklist
  • Hands-on training and question-and-answer office hours
  • A best-practices guide tailored to their accounting system
  • Follow-up guidance and support for 60 days after training

A $1,500 VALUE—FULLY SUBSIDIZED

Thanks to pilot funding, BC CATCH is available at no cost to approved participants during the pilot period.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Eligible applicants must be located in Beaver County, have annual revenue under $5 million, and be prepared to commit staff time to the discovery, implementation, and training process. Both for-profit businesses and nonprofit organizations are encouraged to apply.

QuickBooks Online is the program’s primary platform, but organizations using other accounting systems are also welcome to apply.

Enrollment is limited, and applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis as capacity becomes available.

Aligned Data Centers Purchases 650 Acre Shippingport Site for Over $223M

Aligned Data Centers has purchased the 650 Acre Shippingport Industrial Park for over $223 million. The plan outlines three data center buildings to be built and operated out of the site. Aligned has built over 50 data centers across the Americas, with regional locations in Sandusky, Ohio and Frederick, Maryland. Aligned is dedicated to operating data centers on a closed-loop system, designed to reduce impacts on the surrounding communities. Read more about the land purchase and building plans here (A subscription may be required).

Small Commercial Rebates Program

Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania is pleased to offer the Small Commercial Rebates Program, which provides financial incentives to eligible small business customers who upgrade existing natural gas equipment with more energy-efficient models.

Eligible businesses who choose to upgrade through this program may receive rebates when replacing older, less efficient natural gas equipment on a one-for-one basis with qualifying high-efficiency equipment. The goal is to help businesses lower energy consumption, lower costs, and invest in long-term savings.

To qualify for this program, businesses must be Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania small commercial customers who pay the Energy Efficiency (EE) Rider on their utility bill. Interested customers can submit their rebate applications online alongside supporting documentation. Acceptable documents include invoices and equipment information. Notice of Public Hearing – Beaver County

Transit Authority

 

The Beaver County Transit Authority will hold a public hearing on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 4:00 pm to receive public comments regarding proposed service changes to BCTA’s “Connect” service. Service changes and fare changes, which if approved, would take place Tuesday, September 8, 2026. The hearing will be held in the Board Room of the BCTA Transportation Center, located at 200 West Washington Street, Rochester, PA 15074.

Written comments regarding the proposed changes will be accepted until 12:00 pm on Monday, August 10, 2026, to be included in the public hearing. All written comments should be emailed to customerservice@bcta.com, mailed or delivered in person to BCTA, 200 West Washington Street, Rochester, PA 15074.

Proposed “Connect” Service Changes

  • Add Saturday “Connect” service between the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Add In-County “Connect” service as a feeder into BCTA’s Fixed Route System at Park & Ride locations
  • Add Out-of-County “Connect” service zone to include portions of Robinson Town Center and North Fayette
  • New fare structure range of $4.00 – $7.00 based on mileage
