Homecoming at Geneva the Topic on Teleforum Friday October 5, 2018

(Beaver Falls, Pa.) This is a big weekend on the campus of Geneva College in Beaver Falls as it is Homecoming weekend and Geneva College has a plentiful array of events and happenings wrapped around the Golden Tornadoes hosting the Bethany Bison at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2018, from Reeves Stadium on the campus of Geneva College football ball game.

Cheryl Johnston, Director of Marketing Services and Public Relations and Kelly Sanzari, Director of Alumni Relations joined Frank Sparks on Teleforum in the 10 o’clock hour to talk about all of the activities that started on Thursday night  and will continue thru Saturday. Beaver County Radio’s Frank Sparks and Ed Hermick will anchor a pre-game pep rally broadcast at the upper gate of Reeve’s Stadium from 1 to 3 pm. Ask The Commissioners on Teleforum with Frank Sparks

Beaver County Commissioners Chairman Dan Camp and Commissioner Sandie Egley joined Frank Sparks on Teleforum during the monthly segment “Ask the Commissioners”  from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday October 4, 2018.

On the docket for this months show was the hiring of former county solicitor Joe Askar and Dana Kwidis as solicitors for Beaver County Children and Youth Services.

The Commissioners were asked by Frank Sparks why Joe Askar with all of the possible controversy that could possibly surround him. Commissioner Camp explained that he felt of the three finalist for the job that he felt that Askar and Kwidis were the most qualified and that is why he voted for them. Commissioner Egley when asked if she had a comment said we’ll just leave it where it is. Egley did not vote for Askar but did vote for Kwidis to be hired.

The remainder of the show centered around retirement, the budget, and taking phone calls with questions from the listeners.

Penn State Master Gardeners appeared on Teleforum with Frank Sparks on Tuesday October 2, 2018

The Penn State Master Gardeners Don Buffington and Adele Whipple made their monthly appearance on Teleforum with Frank Sparks on Tuesday October 2, 2018 at 9:10 am.

On the docket this month was winter prep as we are only a couple of weeks from the falls first frost. The master gardeners talked about cleaning out your garden and general yard  and plant prep for the cold months ahead. Don and Adele also answered questions from the listeners via telephone calls.

Don and Adele will be back again next month on November 6, 2018 at 9:10 a.m.

Amy Fazio Democratic Candidate for 14th District Pa. House of Representatives appeared on Teleforum with Frank Sparks Tuesday October 2, 2018

In  a continuing series highlighting local candidates for the PA house of Representatives Amy Fazio Democratic Candidate for the 14th District of Pa House of Representatives was a guest on Teleforum with Frank Sparks on Tuesday October 2, 2018  from 10:10 to 11:00 a.m..

Mrs. Fazio a Daugherty Township resident and member of the New Brighton School Board is running against current 14th District Republican Representative Jim Marshall. Fazio is married to her husband Bryan and has a 12 year old daughter. Amy also runs her own business out of her home. A native of Buffalo, N.Y., where her father was a police officer, Fazio has lived here for 15 years while her husband’s family has five generations in the county. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Skidmore College in 1996 and a master’s from Colorado State University in 2001.

During Amy’s interview she stressed education and what a passion it is to her and some ideas she has if elected that she would like to introduce. Amy answered questions from the listeners via telephone and Facebook Live.

Frank’s next guest in the continuing series will be Josh Kail a Republican who is running against Democrat Terri Mitko in the 15th District on Thursday October 18, at 10:10 a.m. and Current 10th District Representative Republican Aaron Bernstine at 11:10 a.m. the same day.  The final candidate in the series will be current 14th District Representative Republican Jim Marshall on October 24, 2018 at 11:10 a.m..

2018 Ambridge Festival of Churches Broadcast was a hit by all who attended!!!

(Ambridge, PA.) The 2018 Ambridge Festival of Churches was held in PJ Caul Park Saturday afternoon, September 29, 2018. Beaver County Radio’s Frank Sparks and Ed Hermick were in attendance with the Beaver County Radio Prize van and Personality Prize Wheel from 12 noon to 2 p.m..

Opening ceremonies started at 12 noon with a ring of bells in unison with the noon church bell. The bells were handed out to festival attendees. Then Pa State Representative Rob Matzie spoke next followed by U.S. Representative Keith Rothfus and Beaver County Commissioner Tony Amadio.  The Invocation was then issued and many dignitaries in attendance were then introduced by Rep. Matzie.

The entertainment started with the Ambridge High School Steel Drum Corp as they entertained the crowd while they were eating some of the many ethnic food and treats that were available for sale.   Check out the pictures of all of the fun below….

A new series continued on Teleforum with Frank Sparks about the candidates for the 2018 General Election on Tuesday September 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m..

Frank’s guest was Darcelle Slappy a Green Party Candidate who is running for Pa. State Representative in the 10th District. Frank asked Darcelle about her candidacy, family life, what made her enter the race at such a late stage, and  what she planned to do if elected to the state house. Frank will start out the series with Terri Mitko who is a Democrat running in the 15th Legislative District  against Republican Josh Kail. Terri will appear at 10:00 am followed by Darcelle Slappy a Green Party Candidate who will be challenging current PA 10th District Republican Representative Aaron Berstine. Darcelle will be Frank’s guest at 11am.

The Topic this month was Concordia Visiting Nurses and the services they provide. Dino discussed the process of using Concordia Services from begging to end including health care coverage and different programs to help pay for Concordia’s services.

The Guys discussed the advantages of arranging for care if you know ahead that you are going to be having a procedure done.
