(Pennsylvania) On Thursday, the United States Senate vote between Democrat Bob Casey and Republican David McCormick has still has not reached a legitimate outcome, because the votes are going to be retallied, and now McCormick is using legal filing to prevent counties in Pennsylvania from counting ballots that either do not have a date or have the incorrect date. The campaign of McCormick does not believe that the outcome will be decided by these ballots that are from both Centre and Bucks Counties. McCormick only has twenty-six thousand votes more than Casey as of Thursday afternoon.

(Pennsylvania) Despite some progress, Pennsylvania and other states in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed are unlikely to meet their 2025 pollution commitments to reduce nitrogen, phosphorus and sediment pollution. An assessment by the Environmental Protection Agency’s Chesapeake Bay Program reveals that more than two-thirds of the Bay and its tidal rivers did not meet clean-water standards between 2020 and 2022. Harry Campbell from the Chesapeake Bay Foundation notes that pollution levels vary based on land use, local economies and population, and stresses that a stronger workforce is essential for Pennsylvania to meet its goals. Campbell notes that Governor Josh Shapiro reaffirmed Pennsylvania’s commitment to bay restoration in June. The two-hundred and tweny million dollar Pennsylvania Clean Streams Fund addresses major river and stream impairments and includes a program to help farmers adopt sustainable practices. This year’s state budget also allocates an additional fifty million to the fund, ensuring ongoing support for programs like the farmer-focused cost-share initiative.

Phishing scam going around to steal personal information through accounts

(Harrisburg, PA) According to a release from Attorney General Michelle Henry, there is a phishing scam going around concerning false usage on banking accounts in which thieves can steal information and data that is personal. Henry also states that scammers give the victims either contact information through calling a phone number or to respond to texts or emails, and then they will ask for authorization to access accounts or facts only available to you, like a social security number. Henry suggests that you should never answer any of these responses and that an alternative option would be to look at the back of either your credit or debit card and call the phone number on that side.
