Friday’s AMBC: Wait…Which Week Is This?

What week is it? Well, depends on the team.

It’s Week 8 in High School Football, and Matt Drzik will have the full schedule of Valley action as there’s two games left to determine who will be in the WPIAL Playoffs.

Also, at 7:20 on Friday morning, Pitt broadcaster Pat Bostick will join Matt to talk about the #23 Panthers and their big match with Clemson on Saturday.

VIDEO: New Galilee Holding Fall Festival This Weekend

Pumpkin rolling, a pig lady, and a personal stash of candy…it must mean fall is in the air in the borough of New Galilee.

The Little Beaver Lions Club is hosting the New Galilee Fall Festival beginning on October 22, and it will be featuring a historical segment on the “Pig Lady” a tale of folklore based out of Cannelton. There will also be live music from East of Enon, and activities for kids throughout the Festival.

Matt Drzik spoke to Melanie Todorich, J.M. Gishbaugher and Kathy Skolnik about the event, including the details of lore behind the “Pig Lady” as well as the long list of weekend activities for anyone to participate in. To listen to the full interview, click on the Facebook feed below.

Tuesday’s AMBC: New Galilee Celebrates Fall

On Tuesday, Matt Drzik will sit down with Melanie Todorich to discuss the upcoming Fall Festival in New Galilee taking place on October 22 & 23. The interview will take place following the 8:30 news.

Plus Matt and Frank Sparks will give you the latest on news, sports, and weather throughout the morning beginning at 6:30 AM.

AUDIO: PA MEDI Helps Seniors Through Medicare Open Enrollment

New name, same assistance.
PA MEDI, formerly the Apprise program, is being offered once again by the Beaver County Office On Aging starting on October 15, running through the end of Medicare open enrollment on December 7. New plans and renewals will then begin in earnest on January 1, 2022.
The coordinator for PA MEDI for the BCOA, Joanne McDermitt, joined Matt Drzik to talk about the new season for open enrollment on A.M. Beaver County. She spoke about how to enroll, how anyone from out-of-state can change plans, what plans are covered in Medicare enrollment, and what one may do if they decide to obtain or rescind an Advantage Plan.

AUDIO: New Brighton Fall Fest Returns On October 16th

After a year that saw many plans “fall” through, the borough of New Brighton is bringing back Fall Fest for 2021.

Borough Manager Tom Albanese spoke about the upcoming festival taking place on 3rd Avenue in New Brighton on Saturday, October 16. The event will kick off at noon, and Beaver County Radio will be broadcasting live with the Personality Prize Wheel until 2PM. There will be live music throughout the afternoon, plus many local food vendors and events for children. A full schedule of events can be found here.

Albanese also spoke about the rest of the events the borough is hosting in a busy October, including the annual Halloween Parade on October 20, and a Murder Mystery dinner presented by the Merrick Art Gallery on October 15.

On Tuesday, Matt Drzik will be talking to Jodie McGovern, a therapist working with the Women’s Center of Beaver County. October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Jodie will discuss the different types and availability of therapy offered by the Women’s Center.
