Republican leaders in the state House are reviewing Governor Tom Wolf’s veto yesterday of a spending measure known as the fiscal code that was approved last week along with a GOP-penned spending measure. Wolf cites concerns about how the measure divides money for schools and regulates oil and gas drilling.

Ahead of Pennsylvania’s primary next month, residents have to today to register to vote. Would-be voters wanting to register can do so online through a new registration system on the votespa.com website.
Final Piece Of State Budget To Become Law Today
The final piece of a state budget for the current fiscal year becomes law today. Governor Tom Wolf last week opted to let the $6.6 billion GOP-drawn supplemental spending package take effect without his signature, backing off from an earlier veto threat. It contains no new taxes and includes education, agriculture, prison and health care funding.
Explosion And Fire Displaces Family Of Four
An explosion and fire last night north of Pittsburgh has put a family of four out of their home. The family told investigators they were upstairs at the time of the blast, which left the basement on fire. They were able to escape safely.
Pittsburgh’s Red Line Service Disrupted
Many light rail commuters in the Pittsburgh area are having to find an alternate way to get to downtown with the Port Authority shutting down Red Line service for track repairs. Officials estimate the shutdown will affect about 12,000 commuters. The system will use extra buses to help get displaced riders to the system’s Blue Line.

“God’s Grace For Single Mothers” moves to new time
(Beaver County Radio) The popular inspirational program, “God’s Grace For Single Mothers”, is moving to Saturday mornings and will air from 10:30 to 11:00 A.M. on WBVP and WMBA beginning April 2, 2016. Host Tega Swann from Refreshing Springs Ministries started the show, which is devoted to offering encouragement and spiritual guidance to

single mothers back in January of this year. The move to Saturday mornings from the previous Monday afternoon time slot comes with great excitement for Rev. Swann and Beaver County Radio, as this promises to be a great opportunity to reach new people who might not have heard the program yet in Beaver County. Scott Wedgewood stopped all 36 Pittsburgh shots as he and his fellow New Jersey Devils defeated the Penguins 3-0. Kyle Palmeiri had two goals for New Jersey. The Pens fall to 40-25-8, remaining four points behind the New York Rangers for second place in the Metropolitan Division. The Penguins play next in Detroit on Saturday.
