“Hike 4 Kidz” Event To Benefit Trio Of Organizations To Be Held On April 30

“It’s a pretty easy walk, so everybody should have a good time.”

Dennis Garrett, from the Knights Of Columbus Council #604, spoke those words in regards to the upcoming “Hike 4 Kidz” event to take place on April 30. Garrett, along with Korin McMillan from St. Anthony’s Schools, Allison Dixon from McGuire Memorial, and Stephen Cantanzarite from Saint Monica Catholic Academy joined Matt Drzik on the April 5 edition of A.M. Beaver County to talk about the hike, which benefits the aforementioned organizations.

The hike will take place along a 2.5-mile stretch of the North Country Trail along the Little Beaver Creek east of Enon Valley in Lawrence County. However, hikers have the option to walk the stretch for increments of 5, 7.5, or 10 miles if they so choose. Hikers participating will gather at the Enon Valley Community Pavilion between 8 AM and 10 AM on April 30, and the event will happen regardless of the weather that morning.

Council #604 is seeking hikers for the event, but they are also seeking pledge sponsors for the event as well. Two parishes within the council area–the aforementioned Saint Monica in Chippewa as well as sister parish St. Blais in Midland–are competing to see which parish can raise the most funds for the trio of charities. Further details about the event can be seen by clicking here for more information or by finding more about the event on Facebook.
