Dr. Jane Bovalino, Superintendent, Rochester Area School District, Ray Rotuna,Academy Executive Director, Artistic Director and Conductor, BVCS, and Sharon Burchill, Academy Administrative Staff Member, Academy Faculty Vocal Track, BVCS Associate Director, Director of Youth Choruses, Ensembles, and Education were guests of Frank Sparks on Teleforum Monday April 30, 2018. They are some of the organizers of the 2018 Summer High School Student Choral and Instrumental Academy that will be taking place at the Rochester Area School District .

The summer music academy runs from Monday, June 18 through Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the Rochester High School campus, 540 Reno Street, Rochester, PA.   High school music students, grade 9 through recent graduates, and home schooled students, from throughout the western PA region are encouraged to apply to the academy.  Vocal and band rehearsals are scheduled from 9 am to noon each day.  Following rehearsals, all students receive a lunch in the school cafeteria.  Classes and interest sessions begin at 1 pm and run until 3 pm.  Private piano, voice or flute lessons are scheduled from 3:30 to 6 pm daily.  On Saturday, all students are encouraged to attend the college fair with their parents.  A final dress rehearsal is set for 1 to 3 pm on Saturday, followed by a dinner and concert dress preparations.  The finale concert, presented in the school auditorium, begins at 7:30 pm.
