(Beaver County, PA) Tommie Campbell, a former NFL player who is now a youth football coach in Beaver County, is now accused of assaulting his own son during a game.

According to Beaver County District Attorney Nate Bible, Campbell was seen on video yelling at his 6-year-old on the field.

As the child puts his hands up, Bible states that Campbell slaps them away, then drags him off the field.  

Bible noted that moments later, Campbell grabs the child near a portable toilet, lifts him off the ground and holds him at eye level against the portable toilet while yelling before dropping him down.

The child was not injured. 

Campbell is now charged with simple assault and harassment, and these are misdemeanor and summary offenses.

He is scheduled to undergo a preliminary hearing next month. 

Campbell is a native of Aliquippa who played college football at Pitt, Edinboro and Cal U.

He was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2011.
