Kessel scores 300th goal for the 2-1 Pens OT win.

Phil Kessel streaked down the ice on a breakaway and snapped one thru the five-hole for his 300th career goal 1:07 into overtime winning it for the Penguins  2-1 against the Winnepeg Jets Thursday night, October the 26, 2017, from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. It was Kessel’s fourth goal this year and his second straight overtime winning goal. Connor Sheary scored his fifth goal of the season to get the scoring under way just a minute and twenty five seconds into the game. Jake Guenztel and Sydney Crosby assisted on the goal. The Jets then tired it up on a Josh Morrissey goal 9:25 seconds into the first period. The Pens are now 7-3-1 with 15 points and are in first place in the Metropolitan Division. The Jets are now 4-3-1 with 9 points. Matt Murray stopped 30 of 31 shots to get the win in goal. The Pens are next in action on the road in Minnesota Saturday night October 28, 2017 at 8 p.m. on Beaver County Radio.
