(Lawrence County, PA) Pennsylvania State Police in New Castle reported yesterday that two people were injured after a single-vehicle crash occurred in Lawrence County on Thursday.

Eighty-one-year-old Thomas Wigton of Ellwood City was driving south on River Road in Wayne Township at 2:33 p.m.

According to police, Wigton took a slight right turn onto a closed road blocked off by concrete barriers and impacted them with the front of the vehicle.

There was also a sign that indicated “Bridge Closed Ahead” on the right shoulder of the road.

Wigton was charged by police and he and his passenger suffered suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash.

However, they refused transportation to UPMC Jameson Hospital.
