(Chambersburg, PA) A sixth death related to measles has now been recorded in Pennsylvania.

A 39-year-old woman died on Saturday in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, after a past diagnosis of measles.

This death meets the criteria that is established by the Pennsylvania Department of Health for a measles-associated fatality, which marks the first such death in Franklin County in many years.

This loss comes as the United States is enduring its highest annual number of measles cases and related complications since the year 1991.
