Beaver County has received a payment from Shell Chemicals. Shell paid the county $356,000 in lieu of taxes as part of an agreement that was made in 2012. The payment was for years 2014 thru 2016 and was received July 1. The money was not part of the county budget according to budget director Ricardo Luckow and will help the county’s cash crunch.
