‘The Purge’ Moviegoer Arrested With Gun, Ammo at Center Township Movie Theater

Authorities say a convicted felon was arrested over the weekend after he carried a semi-automatic handgun and a box of ammunition into a Center Township movie theater. According to Center Township Police Chief Barry Kramer , officers saw a man walking around the Cinemark Center Township Marketplace lobby wearing long-sleeved Army gear with a large backpack in 94-degree weather. Chief Kramer told Mike Romigh on Teleforum this morning that the man initially gave a false I-D but was eventually identified as 21-year-old William Gossett. He was found with a .25-caliber semiautomatic handgun that was found to be stolen from Ohio and a box of ammunition. He was taken to jail. Gossett told police that he was there to watch “The Purge”. “The Purge: Election Year” is the third installment in a series of films about a day on which all crime is legal for a 12-hour period once per year.
