Police Identify 23-Year-Old Lawrence County Woman Who’s Facing Charges Following Death of Newborn

Police have identified a 23-year-old woman who could face charges after a newborn was found dead underneath a home in Lawrence County. Authorities say the homeowner was in the process of hanging up Christmas lights Sunday afternoon when he found the infant in the crawlspace of the Shenango Township home. State police in New Castle have taken the homeowner’s daughter – 23-year-old Brittany Robinson – into custody. Robinson told police that she didn’t know she was pregnant and that the baby had no heartbeat or pulse upon its birth in her bathtub, though law enforcement officials say they found evidence that she knew of her pregnancy beforehand. An autopsy on the newborn will be done today.
