Pittsburgh to Host Leading Democratic Presidential Candidates for Education Forum

At least 7 of the leading Democratic Presidential Candidates are coming to Pittsburgh next week. Local teachers, parents and students will have an opportunity to grill the candidates on education issues during a forum in the city. The “Public Education Forum 2020” will be held Dec. 14 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Downtown Pittsburgh. Candidates confirmed to appear include Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar and Tom Steyer, according to Suzanne South of One Pennsylvania. Two other candidates may also attend. The day-long event will be moderated by MSNBC journalists. Questions will come from representatives from an 11-member coalition that includes the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers and One Pennsylvania. Candidates will appear one by one to answer questions. Pittsburgh beat out several other cities for the chance to host the forum, including Chicago and Boston.
