(New Brighton, PA) The business owner of the Fifth Avenue Taphouse in New Brighton is out on bail, and he is waiting for a preliminary hearing on October 2nd on charges of drug possession and possession with the intent to deliver. 

Raed J. Jaber, who is also known as “Ron” Jaber, was arrested on Friday by the New Brighton Area Police Department and was arraigned on two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver and three misdemeanor counts, two for possession of a controlled substance and one for possession of drug paraphernalia before District Justice Daniel Viscuso.

Viscuso set a monetary bail worth $75,000 and Jaber posted bail on the same day. 

According to the police affidavit, on September 4th, New Brighton police and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office requested and was granted permission by Beaver County Court Judge Richard Mancini to search two properties in New Brighton: the Fifth Avenue Taphouse at 631 Fifth Avenue and a residential building at 701 Sixth Avenue, and both of them are owned by Jaber.

Both properties were searched on the same day. 

That same affidavit confirmed that the search of the Fifth Avenue Taphouse allegedly recovered 12 individual jewelry bags containing a substance suspected to be cocaine HCL, suspected vials of anabolic steroids, a digital scale and about $10,000 in cash from Jaber’s office.
