A New Castle man faces a number of charges after breaking into a home in Union Township. According to authorities, 31 year old Alonzo Cortez Whittler III of Park Avenue was charged with strangulation, burglary, simple assault and harassment. Police alleged Whittler broke through as window at a home on Road Street early Saturday morning and began to assault the victim. Whittler was arraigned and placed in the Lawrence County Jail on 10 thousand dollars bond. He has a preliminary hearing July 30th.
