Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive to benefit local children and families

BEAVER COUNTY RADIO

PITTSBURGH — Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh’s 27th annual Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive is underway at the Museum until Nov. 30.

Visitors who donate during open hours will receive one free same-day adult admission to the museum. Sweater donors are encouraged to drop off new or gently-used sweaters in all sizes to the donation bin located at the main entrance. Children’s sizes are especially appreciated.

Donations are accepted every day from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. The museum is open from
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The annual sweater drive has collected approximately 50,000 sweaters for children and families in the Pittsburgh area for the last 26 years.

“With your help, we can spread warmth and kindness to those in need this holiday season,” a museum press release said. “We are excited to encourage local schools, businesses, community groups and more to join in the sweater drive as satellite collection locations.”

Jane Werner, executive director of the museum, said, “Each year we are overwhelmed with the generosity of the Pittsburgh community, who come together to donate thousands of sweaters to those in need. We are proud to distribute not just sweaters, but a feeling of joy and
warmth during the holiday season.”

The sweater drive is the signature event for the museum’s Year of Kindness. Each month guests are encouraged to make a donation and receive 1 free adult same day admission. For the full
