A Beaver Falls man accused of stealing more than $40,000 from the Century 3 Mall has been sentenced to nine to 18 months in jail. 52-year-old John Sabino pleaded no contest in October to one count each of theft by deception and receiving stolen property. Authorities allege that the former Century 3 Mall manager created vouchers for events purportedly being held there and collected reimbursement. Investigators allege that Sabino issued fake checks to himself from the mall and then deposited them into his bank account. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that Sabino was ordered to spend five years on probation, do 300 hours of community service and pay more than 40-thousand dollars in restitution.
