(West Mifflin, Pa.) Kennywood Park officials are expected to hold a briefing this morning to provide an update after three people including a 39- year-old man and two 15-year-old juveniles were shot during the opening weekend of Phantom Fall Fest late Saturday night.
witnesses reported that two groups were arguing near the MUSIK EXPRESS ride when the shooting started.
Police ran a trace on the gun that was recovered at the scene and found it was stolen from Columbus Ohio last year. It’s not clear if that is the gun that was used for the shootings. The injured are expected to recover from their injuries.
During today’s briefing that is being held at the park, officials are expected to recap the events of the evening, including the security that was in place and the screening technology used at the front gate. They are also expected to share ‘new and enhanced’ security measures being put into place before the park reopens this weekend.
