Ellwood City Area Schools Add Armed School Police Officers

The Ellwood City Area School District will have two armed school police officers at its buildings starting next school year.  Superintendent Joseph Mancini said Monday the district has been awarded a $156,400 grant from the School Safety and Security Committee of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency that will be paid over the next two years to cover the officers. Mancini said one officer will be stationed at Lincoln High School and the other will float between Hartman, North Side and Perry elementary schools.
