Darlington woman charged for getting distracted by her phone during two-vehicle crash in Darlington Township

(Darlington Township, PA) Pennsylvania State Police in Beaver said yesterday a 36-year-old Darlington woman was charged following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday in Darlington Township. 

Police said Katelyn Ward rear-ended a vehicle driven by 53-year-old Michelle Shafer of East Palestine, Ohio, at approximately 2:56 p.m. 

According to investigators, Shafer had slowed to make a left turn into the Darlington Beer Distributor parking lot when Ward, who police said was distracted by her phone, failed to stop in time. 

No injuries were reported.
