A woman injured Sunday night when her oxygen tank exploded in her Coraopolis home has died. 59-year-old Karen Tomko was pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital from burns, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner’s office. The office said that Tomko was smoking near her oxygen tank, which caused it to explode in her home in the 1200 block of Fourth Avenue. Her death has been ruled accidental.
