Police were called to Ohio River Boulevard in Edgeworth this morning for reports of a man with a gun who was shooting at parked cars. The shots were fired in a parking lot that was being used by construction crews in the area. The scene is about a mile away from Sewickley Academy. A construction foreman was taken into custody. Police say 37-year-old Alan Smith Jr. was working on a project at the school. According to investigators, Smith was going to take some of his crew members over to the school at around 7 a-m when he became irritated with them. Police say Smith shot his work truck and another car. No one was hurt. Once police arrived, Smith surrendered peacefully.
