(Harrisburg, PA) On Thursday, the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania decided that Pennsylvania voters can start casting provisional ballots instead of mail-in ballots. The panel, consisting of three members, based this decision on what happened after two provisional ballots in Butler County were counted despite ambiguous laws of the state during the primary election on April 23. These ballots were originally rejected because the two voters got an email which explained that they put a separate blank envelope in the ballot return envelope, and this development could get more voters involved as Pennsylvania could again decide the winner of the Presidential election between Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Pennsylvania lawmakers plan to begin voting on legislation Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023, to move up the state’s 2024 presidential primary date, although the dates under discussion may do little to give the state’s voters more say in deciding presidential nominees.
