(West Mayfield, PA) A Beaver County youth baseball organization is asking for help after someone broke into its concession stand and stole money.

Matt Niedbala said organizers are now working to repair the damage caused during Friday’s burglary.

“The door was broken, so we have to repair that. It’s pretty devastating,” Niedbala said.

While the door can be replaced, organizers say replacing the stolen cash box — which contained about $400 to $500 — will be more difficult for the group at West Mayfield Community Park.

Proceeds from the concession stand support the youth baseball organization and its 60 players. The money has helped pay for new batting cages, field improvements and umpire fees.

Niedbala said the thief broke off the door handle and drilled a hole above the lock to get inside and access the cash box.

There were no security cameras inside the concession stand at the time of the burglary, but organizers said they plan to install cameras following the incident.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
