(New Sewickley Township, Pa) Officers were dispatched to the scene of a road rage incident on Fezell Road shortly after 10pm Thursday.

According to a release from the New Sewickley Township Police Department, a 911 caller indicated gun shots were being fired from a vehicle involved in road rage.

Officers were told a silver Chevy Impala was fleeing the scene after shooting at another vehicle.

An officer was able to locate the vehicle on Blackswoods Road at the intersection with Big Knob Road traveling at a high rate of speed away from the area where the incident took place.

The officer conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle on Grange Road and identified the driver as 41-year-old Christopher L. Brown of Brighton Township.

The report states Brown admitted to being involved in the road rage incident and initially denied firing a gun from inside his vehicle.

Victims told officers the incident started in the 300 block of Big Knob Road as the two  vehicles passed each other while traveling in opposite directions and began flashing their high beams at each other. The victims indicated that Brown turned around and began following them on Big Knob Road, attempted to cut them off several times.

The victims state they had to drive through a yard to avoid a collision with Brown’s vehicle. They say Brown then began to follow them onto Blackswoods Road and then onto Fezell Road, where they say Brown began to shoot at them.

Part of the incident was caught on video. Officers report the video depicts approximately 15 shots being fired.

While investigating, officers located .40 caliber shell casings along the roadway in the 700 block of Fezell Road and Brown was found to be in possession of a .40 caliber Glock Model 23 pistol with 5 rounds missing from the magazine.

Brown told officers the individuals in the other vehicle threw “some type of liquid at his vehicle” when he initially passed them. Brown claimed that caused him to become angry and turn around to chase the victim’s vehicle.

Brown admitted to firing the handgun from his vehicle but denied shooting at the victims. Brown also indicated that there was an additional magazine for his firearm inside the vehicle.

When officers executed a search warrant of Brown’s  vehicle, officers located an empty .40 caliber Glock magazine in addition to money and several containers of suspected marijuana and paraphernalia.

Brown was charged with two counts of Aggravated  Assault, one count of Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Structure or Vehicle, two counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person, two counts of Terroristic Threats, and two counts of Simple Assault.

Brown is currently being held in the Beaver County Jail after failing to post a $250,000 bond. Additional charges are pending.
