Blind Professor at CMU Comes Up With Solution to Help Visually Impaired People Navigate Airports

UNDATED (AP) — Navigating airports can be tricky. They’re loud, crowded and not always laid out in an intuitive way. They’re even more challenging for visually impaired people. A blind professor at Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute has come up with a solution. This spring researchers launched a navigation app for Pittsburgh International Airport that provides turn-by-turn audio instructions to users on how to get to their destination.
