(Beaver, PA) Beaver Area School District Board member Luke Berardelli has now resigned after he stated that he would not over a social media post that was controversial. 

Berardelli put out a Facebook post last week which said things like, “Cover your body. Shut your mouth and you can’t do anything unless man says so.”  and “maybe the Islamic faith is the correct way to go considering they give women zero rights at all.” 

This post supposedly came in response to the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, who is accused of fatally strangling her three children on January 24th, 2023 at her family’s home in Duxbury, Massachusetts.  

Berardelli resigned yesterday morning and he gave this following message to the Beaver Area School District board: “Nothing is more important to me than the health and safety of my children. Please accept my immediate resignation.”

Berardelli previously responded to an inquiry from KDKA-TV and affirmed that he was using “hyperbole” and sarcasm to make a point about extremism.
