Atty Gen Josh Shapiro: Recommendations From State Grand Jury Report On Catholic Priests Will Pass If Allowed Vote In Senate

Attorney General Josh Shapiro says recommendations from a state grand jury report that found Roman Catholic priests sexually abused children over decades will pass if allowed a vote in Pennsylvania’s Senate. Senate GOP majority leaders aren’t promising a vote on all four recommendations. The chamber’s top Republican says one recommendation is unconstitutional. It would give now-adult victims of child sexual abuse a window to sue over claims that would otherwise be barred by state law.
