Aliquippa School Board Ponders Fate of Football Stadium Grandstand and Purchase New Tractor

(Aliquippa, Pa.) Aliquippa  School Board met last night and discussed whether they want to refurbish or raze the visitors  section of bleachers at Carl A. Aschman Memorial Stadium The section has been closed for a few years due to safety concerns, One of the options discussed was applying for a Community Development Block Grant for the project.

The district’s tractor used to clear the softball and baseball fields is 30 years old, and the board voted to purchase a new one.  A Kubota tractor will be purchased from Murphy Family, Inc. at a cost of $15,713.20..
The board meets in regular session on Wednesday,  March 17 at 6 p.m. in the Black Box Theater and can be viewed via YOUTube.
