Aliquippa City Council issues proclamation for Summer Learning Week

(Aliquippa, Pa.) Aliquippa City Council issued a letter  of support to nonprofits working with youth this summer at Wednesday night’s meeting.  Summer Learning Week is July 11-15, 2022

In other business Council  agreed to  have the police try out  a  program  called Beta to collect  information on vehicles. Police Chief John Lane informed  council and residents about the cold case   in the criminal homicide  of Svajantae .Gilliam who’s birthday was on Wednesday. Gillaim was found dead  on June 1,2016 on a sidewalk in front of 2117 McMinn Street.  Thirty-six year old Brandon Eugene Revis is being  sought by the police. The county detectives  and Aliquippa Police  and its citizens  are credited by the DA  for their support and cooperation in the investigation.
Mayor Dwan Walker  advises parents , “it’s two months until school starts  and  know where your kids are  and what they are doing.” Several complaints about inappropriate behavior has been reported , and some parents expressed concerns at Wednesday night’s meeting.
