Aliquippa City Council Approves Saldo Ordinance, Promotes Police Officer, Approves Bids

(Aliquippa, Pa.) Aliquippa City Council met Wednesday night via ZOOM and unanimously approved the city’s Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance as recommended by the planning commission. The planning commission and city officials worked to  update the ordinances for 2 years

In other business council  promoted Officer  Paul Woods to full time status based on the recommendation of Police Chief John Lane. Santa’s yearly neighborhood parade  through the city will be Tuesday, December 14, 2021 beginning at 5:30 p.m.. Council approved the event  based on the recommendation of  Fire Chief Dave Foringer

Waste  Management’s  contract for refuse hauling for 2 years was approved . There will be changes beginning April 1, 2022 according to the hauler’s representative Mike  Christ. Kehm Oil Company’s one year contract to provide diesel fuel was approved. No bids for vehicle fuel were received, and Sunoco, the current  provider,  will be used . council may reopen bids at a later date.
Janitorial  services will be provided for 1 year  by Anago Cleaning Company for the city building. . Junak’s Auto Repair will continue as the towing company for a 3 year term  beginning January 1, 2022.
