(Pittsburgh, PA) Gas prices are five cents higher in Western Pennsylvania this week at about $4.26 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.

The national average for a gallon of regular gasoline went down two cents over the past week to $4.09.  

Prices for crude oil are still in the range of $80 per barrel as instability continues along the Strait of Hormuz.  

Gas prices are almost a dollar higher than they were this time last year and August typically brings some relief at the pump as road trips decrease and fall routines get underway for a lot of families.  

However, higher prices for crude oil could have an impact on the shift from summer to fall. 

The report states that the average price that you can expect for a regular gallon of unleaded gas here in Beaver County is about $4.29. 

According to a release from AAA East Central and AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report, here are the average prices of unleaded self-serve gasoline this week in various areas:
