(Pittsburgh, PA) AAA East Central is offering free battery and electrical system checks for Pittsburgh-area residents with the season of winter fast approaching. Attendees can purchase batteries on-site if needed at the Battery Wellness Clinics from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the AAA Branch offices in the South Hills and North Hills neighborhoods of Pittsburgh, Monroeville and New Castle.

Summer heat breaks down the components that are inside a battery, making them susceptible to failure in the cold weather.  AAA’s top service call during the winter is for dead batteries, and every year, AAA East Central responds to over 270,000 battery-related calls.

AAA East Central is offering this free service to help the public and its members to celebrate AAA Car Care Month and to avoid being stuck with a dead battery in the dead part of winter.
