86-Mile Stretch On Pennsylvania Turnpike To Close Wednesday Morning

An 86-mile stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike will be closed tomorrow, according to the Turnpike Commission. The stretch will be closed for three hours, starting at 9 a.m. Closures will be between the Breezewood (Exit #161) and the New Stanton (Exit #75) interchanges. The closure is due to a tractor trailer that is over an embankment in Bedford County near milepost 156 on the turnpike. The accident happened over the weekend and crews believe they can safely retrieve the tractor trailer from over the embankment. Traffic will be offed at the Breezewood Interchange and will be able to re-enter the Turnpike at the New Stanton Interchange.
