20th Annual Police Memorial Day Observed on Friday in Beaver

(Beaver, PA) Members of the law enforcement community that include police, PA State Police, county detectives and members of the sheriff’s department, along with families and the general public gathered at the police memorial Friday morning.

Raindrops were falling as the fallen were honored. The national Anthem and God Bless America was sung by Alexa Speicher, Reverend Steven McKeown, who is the police chaplain delivered the memorial prayer. Master of Ceremonies was Sheriff Tony Guy.
The Beaver County DA’s office awards were presented. The Detective Howard Murray Award was presented to Hopewell Township officers Officer Jared Rogers and Robert Clark, the 2 officers were recipients  of the award for working with the PA State Police Criminal Investigation Unit on the Johnson and Rogers cases.
The Sgt. Guy “Tippy” Tyler Award was presented to Raccoon Twp. Officer Benjamin Fenchak, and Sgt. Shawn Shillinburg from the Conway Police Department for their investigation on the Tyler Caplinger case.
The Drug Enforcement Award was presented to Officer Michael Scheers, Harmony Township Police Department. for his work on the Zachary Cymbalak case. Special  Victim Unit Award was presented to Officer Keith Smith from the New Brighton Police Department.
PSP CORPORAL Clayton McGeary Sgt. Michael Miller  for their work on the Curtis Flowers case, AJ Bialak, Ambridge Police Department officer for a sexual assault case.
In honor of the county fallen police officers a new memorial is now in place.
