C.C.B.C. Career Day at the Dome. Wednesday April 10, 2019

It was career day on the campus of the Community College of Beaver County Wednesday April 10, 2019.

Frank Sparks host of Teleforum hosted a live broadcast of the festivities from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Over 100 prospective employers packed the dome in hopes of landing that perfect employee. Valerie Mc Elvey from the Franklin Center of Beaver County did a series of demonstrations that showed the right way and wrong way to show up for a job interview. She stressed that you must come dressed for success and have the same attitude when speaking during the interview.

Michael Crudden and the Sweet Yummy Treats of Rosalind Candy Castle highlighted on Teleforum with Frank Sparks.

Tuesday April 9, 2019 was a day of talking about the sweet yummy  treats that Michael Crudden and his family make at Rosalind’s  Candy Castle on Teleforum with Frank Sparks.

Michael Crudden joined Frank Sparks in the ten o’clock hour and chocolate was on their minds with Easter being just around the corner on April 21, 2019. The interview started out with the guys talking about the history and tradition that is Rosalind Candy.  Michael told Frank that Rosalind’s actually got their name from a contest that was held where their were two winners. One suggested Rosalind after his wife and the other candy castle. The two were put together a little of 104 years ago and Rosalind Candy Castle was born. Rosalind’s has been at their current location since 1951.

Michael discussed the family business and how they are following in the foot steps of their Father who still works at the store everyday. He talked about how his sister Jennifer and him both went out and started life in other careers only to return to the family business and put their experiences to use.

Frank and Michael then started talking about the sweet yummy treats that are available at Rosalind’s and what goes into making them. They then started to highlight some of the treats that Michael brought in which are pictured below…

 

Michael informed the listeners about their website and how you can order candy and have it shipped to your loved ones no matter where they live. One listener even called in and talked about a relative who was in Vietnam and how they would ship candy to his troop in Vietnam and they couldn’t wait for the packages because they loved the candy so much.  Crudden told the listeners to follow them on Facebook also  at  https://www.facebook.com/rosalindcandy/  because they always have contest to give away free Rosalind’s candy.

Beaver County Prothonotary Candidate Michael Rossi joined Frank Sparks on Teleforum, Monday April 8, 2019

Beaver County Prothonotary Candidate Michael Rossi joined Frank Sparks on Teleforum, Monday April 8, 2019 at 10:10 a.m..

Rossi a resident of Center Twp. discussed his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for the Prothonotary of Beaver County. Rossi is running against fellow Democrats Sherri Zibaila and Ashley Trautman. The winner in the May 21, 2019 Primary Election will face off against the Republican nominee on Tuesday November 5, 2019. Currently the only Republican on the ballot is Jodi Hill.

Rossi discussed his public life starting on the then Center School Board and how he has learned what politics is all about with his experiences. Rossi ran unsuccessfully for Pa State Representative against Jim Christiana in 2016. Rossi who is 59 years old Rossi, has also been a network technician for Verizon. He is a former J&L Steel Corp. employee. Throughout his career, Rossi has been a union organizer and local union president. He also served as president of the Center Area School Board for two years while the district underwent a voluntary merger with Monaca School District which he said was a hard decision but the right decision to make.

Mike is married to his lovely wife Mary Jane and the Public Address Announcer for the Central Valley Warriors and other local teams. Rossi is also an avid golfer. Beaver County Radio Pirates Home Opener Tailgate Party at Al’s Corner, Monday April 1, 2019

(Koppel, Pa.) Beaver County Radio hosted its annual Pittsburgh Pirates home opener tailgate party on the road this year at Al’s Corner in Koppel. Beaver County Radio’s Frank Sparks, Matt Drzik and Greg Benedetti hosted the festivities. The guys talked about the Pirates and what they are thinking the 2019 Pirates’ weakness and strengths will be. The guys also gave there predictions for the season and if the Pirates will make the play-offs or not.

The tailgate party also marked the debut of the Beaver County Radio Pirates Treasure Chest that will be making appearances throughout the area this season at local sponsor’s businesses. The chest is filled with all kinds of goodies from our sponsor businesses also  Pirates memorabilia, gift cards, and even Pirates tickets on occasion.
