Beaver County Radio Pirates Treasure Chest to make it’s debut Monday April 1, 2019.

(Beaver Falls, Pa.) Beaver County Radio will debut it’s brand new Pittsburgh Pirates Treasure Chest on Monday April 1, 2019 at Al’s Corner in Koppel from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m..

Stop out and join Frank Sparks, Host of Teleforum, Matt Drzik, Host of A.M. Beaver County and co-host of the Saturday Sports Slam, and Greg Benedetti, co-host of the Saturday Sports Slam and talk Pirates Baseball as the guys host their annual tailgate party on the road this year in honor of the Pirates home opener Monday afternoon.

Listen for clues on the air and Facebook  during the broadcast on how you can can get your chance to open the treasure chest and pick prize. You never know what treasures are in the chest. You could win  Pirates memorabilia, gift cards to different businesses, or maybe even some Pirates Tickets.

(Beaver Falls Pa.) The Best of Beaver County is easy to discover; it’s right on your radio!  Tune in this and every Thursday from 11 to 11:30 am  for “the Best of Beaver County”,  on WBVP and WMBA presented by St. Barnabas. The show is hosted by Jim Roddey and is dedicated to shining light on the great things going on right here in your neighborhood, and the people that are making it happen.  This week , Thursday March 28, 2019, Jim’s guest’s were Rob Pratte a local broadcasting legend who began his career at WBVP and WMBA in the 1970’s before landing at his current position as a regular talk show host on KDKA radio, where he continues to thrive and Bryan Dehart who as Township Manager in Brighton Township.

In the first segment of the show Jim talked with his longtime friend and local broadcasting legend and hometown product Rob Pratte. Pratte told Roddey about his humble upbringing and being from New Brighton and his career in the radio industry that started right here at Beaver County Radio. Pratte praised current Station Manager and Owner Mark Peterson for his hard work in making the stations successful and one of the corner stones of Beaver County. Pratte  also told Roddey about his love for Beaver County and the great things that are going on in the county specifically what St. Barnabas is doing in Brighton Twp and that he feels that Brighton Twp is one of the hidden gems of the county and Roddey explained St. Barnabas feels that way also that is why they are investing so much in the community and the surrounding area. In wrapping up Pratte told Roddey that he loves Beaver County and plans on living the rest of his life in Beaver County saying “I plan on living here till they put me in the ground”.

In segment two Mr. Roddey interviewed Bryan Dehart who is the Manager of Brighton Twp. . Dehart talked about him being raised in the area and graduating from Laurel High School. After graduation he attended Slippery Rock University where he first beacame interested in government  when he took a public administration class. Dehart then moved to Florida after graduation with his then fiance and love of his life, Jill. The two eventually married and are now the proud parents of two adult daughters that they are very proud of. In 1985 Dehart secured employment in Brevard County Florida while he was in grad school. Dehart told Roddey he had never heard of Brighton Twp. when the job opening was posted. He talked with his Dad who told him it was a great community. Bryan had always wanted to move back to Western Pa. and this was the perfect opportunity.

Finally the guys talked about St. Barnabas and their growth in Brighton Twp and specifically growth in general in Brighton Twp. and the exciting things that are going on in Beaver County.

Barbara and Greg Hill from Lowenhill Home Care Services stop by Teleforum Thursday March 21, 2019

Barbara Hill CEO and Founder of Lowenhill Home Services and her husband Greg Hill stopped by to visit on Teleforum with Frank Sparks Thursday march 21, 2019.

Barbara and Greg talked about their mission and how Lowenhill helps their clients with their daily needs whether it be grocery shopping, housekeeping, take medicine, assisting get a bath or just some one to sit and play a game with the client they are there to help the client stay in their home and not have to go just be a number in a nursing home.

The Hill’s took Frank through the process of Lowenhill staff as they enter a client’s home to assist them in their needs. Lowenhill also offers spiritual wellness if the client would like that.

Best of Beaver County with Jim Roddey was all about Technology and Fund Raising.

(Beaver Falls, PA.) “The Best of Beaver County” with host Jim Roddey was on Beaver County  Radio Thursday, March 21, 2019. The show is presented by the St. Barnabas Health System and St. Barnabas Beaver Meadows.

Jim’s guest’s this week were renown Surgeon Dr. Joseph Maroon who is a  board-certified clinical professor of neurological surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and the Heindl Scholar in Neuroscience and Shelli Sommariva, St. Barnabas Charities Executive Director.

In the first segment Jim and Dr. Maroon talked about Dr. Maroon’s experience in the neuroscience and his time as one the Pittsburgh Steelers Doctors. Dr. Maroon also talked about the ever advancing technology and of Neuroscience and how it can help some of the resident’s of St. Barnabas as they age.

In segment two Roddey and Shelli Sommariva, St. Barnabas Charities Executive Director talked about the tough task Shelli has of asking people for donations to St. Barnabas. They also talked about the different fund raisers St. Barnabas has throughout the year. One of the main programs that was highlighted was the “Presents for Patients”.

Rural King GM Art Barnett Is Focus of Huntington Business Spotlight

Rural King’s Art Barnett (left) sits and talks with Todd Galusha of Huntington Bank.

The newest cornerstone store in the Beaver Valley Mall became the focus of the March 21 edition of the Huntington Business Spotlight, held the third Thursday of every month on Beaver County Radio. Rural King is that store, and General Manager Art Barnett joined Valerie Pedigo and Todd Galusha of Huntington Bank and Teleforum host Frank Sparks for an hour of conversation about his store.

The conversation talked about the vast variety of goods and products that Rural King has to offer, its transition into having a location at the Beaver Valley Mall, and how Barnett himself operates his business on a daily basis. Galusha and Pedigo also had the latest updates on the Huntington branches in Beaver County, and Todd even shared a little bit of his own backstory during the hour!

Dale Reckless from M.R.S. Physical Therapy talked shoulder pain during his monthly appearance on Teleforum, Wednesday March 20, 2019

Dales Reckless from M.R.S. Physical Therapy stopped by Teleforum with Frank Sparks for his monthly visit Wednesday March 20, 2019.

This Month Dale talked about shoulder pain and gave the listeners a simple test they could do to tell if they might need physical therapy or even surgery. Pat Septak, News Director, demonstrated the test as Dale explained how to do it.

Frank and Dale also talked about some of the causes of shoulder pain and how our body changes as we age.  Dale informed the listeners of the many great services that M.R.S. Physical Therapy provides to its patients and also talked about their Parkinson’s Program and how it is the only certified program in the county.

Term Limits were the topic on “Rappin with the Reps” Thursday March 14, 2019

(Beaver Falls, PA.) The Marchedition of “Rappin with the Reps” on Teleforum with Frank Sparks talked about term limits . Joining Frank in studio were  Aaron Bernstine (R) 10th District and his Chief of Staff Nick Kerin. The show ran from 9 – 10 a.m. on Thursday March 14, 2019 and was also streamed live on Facebook.

Rep. Andrew Lewis (R) 105th District

The guys started out by talking about a bill that Rep. Bernstine is championing  having to do with term limits. Joining the guys on the phone was Rep. Andrew Lewis (R) 105th District who is one of the writer of the term limits legislation.   He talked about how there is a new wave of legislators who support this bill and also why he felt the need for this.  After a break for news the guys continued the talk and took questions from the listeners and also answered questions that were asked on the Facebook Live Feed.

Jim enjoyed conversation and insight with Lisa Micco, Managing Editor of Beaver County Times and Bethany Williams, Director of Development for the city of Beaver Falls, PA.

In the first segment Jim talked with Lisa Micco, Managing Editor of the Beaver County Times. Jim asked Lisa where she was born and raised and what brought her to Beaver County. Lisa said she was born and raised in the New Castle Area and graduated from Neshannock High School. Lisa has worked for the Beaver County Times for the last eight years. Roddey and Micco discussed the challenges that a local paper such as the Beaver County Times faces and how Lisa would like to see the paper return to it’s Heyday in the future. Jim asked Lisa what are the three things she would like to see happen in Beaver County and she said continued job growth,  rake advantage of the rivers and finally to see the Beaver County Times grow.

In the second segment Jim talked with Bethany Williams who is the Director of Development for the City of Beaver Falls. Bethany talked about how she grew up in West Chester Pa and attended Geneva College. Bethany liked it in Beaver County so much that she took the first job that was offered to her and that happened to be in code enforcement for the city. Bethany and her husband both attended Geneva and have two children. Bethany talked about her love for Beaver Falls and she shared her long term vision of Beaver Falls with the listeners. Roddey and Williams finished up the conversation talking about Penn DOT’s new project that is set to begin in May that will bring a whole new look to the main street of the City of Beaver Falls.
