“Ask the Commissioners” tomorrow, May 2, 2019 on Beaver County Radio

Dee Dixon, Democratic Candidate for Beaver County Recorder of Deeds pays a visit to Teleforum with Frank Sparks

As part of the continuing series highlighting the candidates that are running for office in Beaver County this spring Dee Dixon who is a candidate on the Democratic ticket for Beaver County Treasurer stopped by Teleforum with Frank Sparks in the 10 o’clock hour on Wednesday May 1, 2019.

Dee told listeners about growing up in Kansas City Missouri and what brought her to the area nearly two decades ago. Dixon discussed her personal life and the challenges of raising three boys and being the only female in the house.  She also discussed her  professional life and her love for being a realtor and how she feels her experience makes her the perfect candidate for the Recorder of Deeds office in Beaver County. Dee  is running against Bob Williams and Michael Jackson on the Democratic ticket in  the upcoming primary election on May 21, 2019. The winner will then oppose the winner on the Republican ticket which features Ronald H. Alberti who is running unopposed.

Informative fun day at the 2019 Ambridge Home and Garden Show

It was an informative fun day at the 2019 Ambridge Home and Garden show that was held at the Ambridge Do It Best Home Center and presented by the Ambridge  Regional Chamber of Commerce. The show was held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday April 27, 2019. There was so much to do for the whole family. Activities for the kids included a jumping house, baseball throw and football throw. The Ambridge Fire Department also had a truck on hand for the kids to see up close. The food that was served was free to everyone. The Chamber also held a raffle and gave away goody bags that were stuffed with all kinds of informative things and included an eco friendly light bulb and night that were courtesy of Duquesne Light Company.

Beaver County Radio 1230 WBVP and 1460 WMBA did a live broadcast from 12 to 2 p.m.. Frank Sparks, host of Teleforum and Ed “the master” Hermick anchored the broadcast. They talked with David Strano who is the manager of the Ambridge Do It Best Home Center. David’s family also owns the store. The guys also interviewed Deanna Bautti, owner of Bautti Charcuterie, Jennifer Watkins, Events Coordinator for the Ambridge Regional Chamber, and Valerie Pedigo from Huntington Bank. Dr. Jane Bovalino joins Frank Sparks on Teleforum to discuss 2019 Summer High School Student Choral and Instrumental Academy

(Beaver Falls, Pa.) Dr. Jane Bovalino, Superintendent of Rochester School District, joined Frank Sparks on Teleforum in the 10 o’clock hour Wednesday April 24, 2019 to talk about the 2019 Summer  High School student Choral and instrumental Academy that will be taking place at the Rochester Area School District June 17-22, 2019.

The Academy is a joint venture of the Beaver Valley Choral Society and Rochester High School. The Academy is open to students grades 8-12 from any school district. If you are interested in applying for the academy go to https://www.rasd.org

Dr. Bovalino told the listeners how the academy came about  in August, 2016, the Rochester Area School District and the Beaver Valley Choral Society entered
into a unique partnership. Through collective planning and collaboration, the Choral Society and the school district shared a vision to support the arts in Beaver County. To realize this vision, they have collaborated to provide many events. The high school student summer music academy is a unique and prominent part of their partnership.

She also talked about the events of the week at the academy and how it will all culminate  with  the Academy’s  performance that will be held on Saturday
evening, June 22, 2019 at 7:30 pm. At Rochester High School Auditorium. The performance is free and the public is welcome to attend.
