On Monday, May 13, 2019 during Teleforum with Frank Sparks in the 11 o’clock hour Frank continued his series highlighting the candidates running for office in Beaver County.

Frank’s guest in the 11 o’clock  hour was Wayne Kress who is once again seeking  his parties nomination for Beaver County Sheriff . Kress won the nod of the party in 2015 beating out then Sheriff George David. Kress then faced of against current Sheriff Tony  Guy in the fall of 2015 coming up short as the people of Beaver County voted in Guy as the Sheriff.

Kress said he learned a lot from that election that he has taken forward and feels that he is the best candidate to be the Sheriff of Beaver County. He is facing off against the above mentioned David who will also be appearing on Teleforum on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 10:10 a.m.. The winner of the Democratic primary between the two will then face-off against Guy in the General Election on November 5, 2019.

The guys talked about Wayne’s family and his personal life, his experiences serving in the Air-Force and being a Pennsylvania State Trooper. He talked about the Sheriff’s department and what he would like to do and some ideas he has if elected. Kress talked about how he would be committed to the office and the people of Beaver County and if elected he will be out there with his deputies working. Finally they talked about accessibility and transparency in the Sheriff’s office and how he believes both are very necessary.

Republican Candidate for Beaver County Prothonotary Jodi Hill stopped by Teleforum with Frank Sparks on Monday, May 13, 2019

On Monday, May 13, 2019 during Teleforum with Frank Sparks in the 10 o’clock hour Frank continued his series highlighting the candidates running for office in Beaver County.

Frank’s guest was Republican Jodi Hill  who is a  seeking  her parties nomination for Beaver County Prothonotary. Jodi is running unopposed in the primary on the Republican ticket. If she wins she will face-off against the winner of Michael Rossi and Sherry Zabaila who are running on the Democratic ticket.  The primary election in Pa. is May 21, 2019.

Hill discussed with Sparks exactly who Jodi hill is and her life before she decided to run for Prothonotary. She talked about her experience and why she feels she is the best candidate for the position.

This  weeks show Thursday, May 9, 2019,  the discussion was center around two sisters who are making a difference in Beaver Falls,  Ellen Dayan, owner and operator of the recently opened Tiger Lily Dress Shop, and Renee Suhr, proprietor and teacher at the Stray Cat pottery Studio and  Gift Shop.  Both ladies grew up near Buffalo, NY,  and spent time elsewhere in their early adulthood, but have chosen Beaver County to put their business roots down.

In the first segment Mr. Roddey spoke with Ellen about  her shop and what brought her to Beaver County. Ellen talked about how much she has loved recently opening her shop and that she had more business in Beaver Falls in a week than she had in Arizona in a month. The pair talked about Tiger Lily and the merchandise that is for sale in the store.

 

In segment two Mr. Roddey spoke with Renee Suhr about her store, Stray Cat pottery studio and gift shop. The pair talked about the business and what is sold at Renee’s store. Renee also told the listeners about an exciting new project that will see Stray Cat moving in the near future to a newly built facility on seventh avenue in Beaver Falls.

2019 Spring Senior Day at the Beaver Valley Mall

(Monaca, Pa.) It was a beautiful spring day and the weather dictated a beautiful turnout for Senior Day at the Beaver Valley Mall. Beaver County Radio did a live broadcast that was anchored by Frank Sparks, host of Teleforum. Ed Hermick manned the Beaver County Radio Personality Prize Wheel during the broadcast. The lines were deep and the different  type vendors that were part of the fair were there to help out with the seniors needs. Check out all of the pictures of the fun below…

Commissioner Tony Amadio talks personal life, being a teacher, and a County Commissioner on Teleforum with Frank Sparks

On Tuesday, May 7, 2019 during Teleforum with Frank Sparks in the 10 o’clock hour Frank continued his series highlighting the candidates running for office in Beaver County.

Frank’s guest was  Beaver County Commissioner Tony Amadio who is a  seeking   to be re-elected  as a Commissioner. Amadio is a Democrat who has teamed up with former Commissioner Dennis Nichols on the ballot. The two hope to win the Democratic nod to run in the general election in November.  The Commissioner talked about his life growing up in Aliquippa and playing by the river. After graduating high school Tony went onto college, first West Virginia then CCBC and finally California University of Pa., Amadio then began substitute teaching throughout the area before settling on a 34 year career at Center Area School District, now Central Valley. Amadio became involved in politics, which was his love from being a young boy,  by first being a fire marshal  and then a Center Twp Supervisor before finally running for and being elected a Beaver County Commissioner.

The Commissioner told the listeners about his experiences and what he has learned during his time as a Commissioner and how he is excited for what the future holds for the county.

Amadio told the listeners about his wife, Cheryl, who is his best friend and love of his life. Tony and Cheryl also have two Children and 4 Grandchildren. Tony also talked about his love for Beaver County and told Sparks that if elected this will be his last term so he can spend more time with his family and travel with his wife.

“Ask the Commissioners” talked about the I.R.S., Transportation, Political Stunts and the Rivers!!

(Beaver Falls, Pa.) The Beaver County Commissioners made their monthly appearance on Teleforum with Frank Sparks on “Ask the Commissioners” on Thursday May 2, 2019.

Chairman Dan Camp, Commissioner Tony  Amadio and Commissioner Sandie Egley were in studio to talk about an abundance of topics. The show started by addressing what is on everyone in the counties mind about the I.R.S. filing a lien on Beaver County over payroll taxes. The Commissioners went on to explain all taxes have been paid there was just and issue with some of the paper work that was supposed to be filed. The county received a 30 day extension from the I.R.S. to file the missing 2016 info and is currently negotiating with them on the penalties. The Commissioners also said they have put new measures in place so that something like this doesn’t happen again.

Frank and the Commissioners then touched upon many different topics including District Attorney David Lozier’s comments in the Beaver County Times about the current contract negotiations for the Beaver County Detectives and how he is worried that the Commissioners are going to cut his staff if it’s not specified how many detectives the county employ.

And with that Jim then started talking with Charlie Kennedy about his humble upbringing in New Brighton and how his family settled in New Brighton in the 1800’s. Charlie graduated from New Brighton High School in 1983 and has always had a soft spot for his hometown. Kennedy now resides in Moon Twp. Roddey and Kennedy talked about what The Fiducia Group does and shared some of the clients they serve in Beaver County. In the last segment of the interview the guys talked about the bright future of Beaver County with the Shell Cracker Plant and mini casino coming to town.

 

In Segment two Jim welcomed in current Beaver County Commissioner Tony Amadio. Tony talked about his being raised a local boy and how much he loves Beaver County and one of the greatest honors that has been bestowed upon him is being a Beaver County Commissioner. Tony told the listeners about how he worked in the mill in the summers while attending college. He told Jim about his long tendered career as a teacher and how rewarding that was for him.  Roddey and Amadio talked about his time as a Commissioner and how this is an exciting time in the revitalization of Beaver County.
