2019 Beaver County Boom was “Dancing thru the Decades”

(Bridgewater, Pa.) The 2019 Beaver County Boom lived up to the hype that led up to the show. The theme of this years show was “Dancing thru the Decades”. Beaver County Radio’s Frank Sparks and Ed Hermick anchored a live broadcast from Thursday’s Restaurant which serves as the Beaver County Boom head quarters from 6 until the time of the fireworks. PUSH Beaver County has put on some spectacular fireworks displays and the 9th Annual Beaver County Boom was no different. There were activities for the entire family as the local communities came together and celebrated the annual event. Monaca held their community days, Rochester had activities in the old K-Mart Parking, Bridgewater closed down bridge street and had activities for the whole family and PUSH Beaver County had food trucks and activities available in the Crossings Park.

Along with Ed and Frank doing a live broadcast from Thursday’s Matt Drzik and Bob Barrickman also did a live Broadcast from the Crossings Park. JD Merkel the host of Solid Gold Saturday Afternoon manned the control center spinning out the tunes for the listeners, All this led up to a live simul-cast broadcast exclusively on WBVP and WMBA, Beaver County Radio Interns Kristian Biega and Christina Sainovich assisted throughout the night.

At 9:45 p.m. the star of the show took the stage and Beaver County was “Dancing through the Decades” with an over 18 minute Fireworks display at the mouth of the Beaver River where it intersects with the Ohio River.

The Huntington Business Spotlight for June 2019, Pressley Ridge appeared on Teleforum with Frank Sparks

(Beaver Falls, Pa.) The Huntington Business Spotlight for the month of June 2019 is Pressely Ridge. Rachelle Shea, Program Director of Pressley Ridge Beaver County and Ron Gruca, Senior Director of Development for Pressley Ridge along with Todd Galusha Branch Manager for Huntington Bank joined Frank Sparks on Teleforum in the 9 o’clock hour Thursday June 20, 2019.

Todd discussed Huntington Bank and why they are involved in the Huntington Business Spotlight.  Ron then told the listeners about Pressley Ridge and there history starting out as an orphanage and then growing into what they are today. He told the listeners about the main campus on Marshall Ave. and the different family services that Pressley Ridge offers.  Rachelle talked to the listeners about the programs that they have in the Beaver County Office.  Rachelle talked about the new initiative called Pathways to Wellness and also talked about one of their newer programs the Mobile Crisis for Transition Age Youth. The service offers crisis support in the community to people ages 14-24. This is a service that they want everyone to know about so that young people who are experiencing a crisis know who to call. Ron Bogolea , Dylan Elchin’s Grandfather stopped by Teleforum to talk about a Veteran’s Memorial that he is trying to raise money for.

(Beaver Falls, Pa.) Local resident Ron Bogolea joined Frank Sparks on Teleforum Monday, June 17, 2019. Ron is the Grandfather of Dylan Elchin a Hopewell High School graduate who was a special tactics combat controller assigned to the 26th STS. Dylan had deployed to Afghanistan in August of 2018 and was killed November 27, 2018 alongside two Green Berets when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb in central Ghazni province, while en route to battle the Taliban. Ron has made it his mission to raise money for the “Footsteps of the Fallen Fight for Freedom”  Memorial. Ron told the listeners about Dylan and his life and what he meant to him. Bogolea is very passionate about his grandson and other soldiers from Beaver County who have given the ultimate sacrifice of their life for our country. He is selling t-shirts to help raise money for the memorial, all of the proceeds from the shirt go directly to the fund. The t-shirt, which Ron was wearing during the interview , will be available for purchase throughout the summer for just $20.00.

Pirates Treasure Chest makes an appearance at the Beaver Valley Mall.

(Monaca, Pa.) The Beaver County Radio Pittsburgh Pirates Treasure Chest has made its rounds around Beaver County so far this baseball season and Saturday was no exception as the chest made its curtain call for this week at the Beaver Valley Mall. The treasure chest was busy this week first appearing at Friendly Federal Credit Union in Aliquippa on Thursday June 13, 2019 then it was onto Towne Square Restaurant in Beaver on Friday, June 14, 2019 and finally finishing up at the Beaver Valley Mall on Saturday June 15, 2019.

Joining the treasure chest was Frank Sparks, host of Teleforum, Ed Hermick, Diane Brown, and Beaver County Radio intern Kristian Biega. Frank did a live broadcast during Solid Gold Saturday. There were many people who came out to the broadcast to spin the personality prize and earn that rare chance to try and win a prize from the Beaver County Radio Pittsburgh Pirates Treasure Chest.

The treasure chest will make a return appearance at the Beaver Valley Mall on Saturday August 3, 2019.
