(Daugherty Township, PA)  Members of the “Run For McGuire” committee had another short motorcycle ride on August 25, 2016 as they donned the helmets and riding leather one more time to drive the donation check to the McGuire Memorial campus on route 65 in Daugherty Township.  Beaver County Radio is in it’s third year of sponsoring the annual charity motorcycle ride,  and this year proved to be a very worthwhile cause, netting a little over $4,300 dollars that was turned over to Sister Thaddeus after arriving  at McGuire Memorial.

“Run For McGuire” committee  member Chuck Quinn talks about this year’s donation and what the ride means to the special  people who live at McGuire Memorial:

“Run For McGuire” committee member Michael Burckure reminisces back nearly thirty years ago when a group of motorcycle riders from New Brighton came up with the idea to start the annual event:

“Run For McGuire” committee member John Harvey talks about keeping a promise to original ride organizer Butch “Pappy” Spooner and how he helped get a small group of people together who were able to keep the event going:

McGuire Memorial provides ongoing care and support for 55 of “God’s Entrusted Treasures” at the main facility in Daugherty Township, just outside of New Brighton.

In addition to great fellowship and food there was also a silent auction featuring great items from local businesses.

The Run For McGuire received support from many of the local police departments and municipalities along with a police escort from Beaver Falls motorcycle patrolman Jim Siget.

Prior to the ride, each participant received a “Goodie bag”, filled with great items and information.
