Attempted Traffic Stop in Beaver Falls, Suspect Flees and Goes Over 100 MPH

(Beaver Falls, Pa.) Pa State Police in Beaver are reporting Monday morning, October 17, 2022,  that they attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the driver of a red/burgundy Chevrolet Cruze at the intersection of 7th Ave and the Eastvale Bridge in Beaver Falls around 2 a.m. Monday morning.
According to a release from State Police. The driver fled onto I-76 PA Turnpike eastbound and during the pursuit the suspect’s vehicle reached speeds of more than 100 MPH.
The vehicle was later located in Marshall Township, Allegheny County.
There is no other word at this time as Troopers continue to investigate.

Picture Perfect Fall Day For New Brighton Fall Festival

(New Brighton, Pa.) The weather was beautiful and created an opportunity for many Beaver County residents to get out and visit the 4th Annual New Brighton Fall Festival along Third Avenue in the borough.

Beaver County Radio’s Frank Sparks and Curtis Walsh had the Prize Caddy out and about and made an appearance along  with the Beaver County Radio Personality Prize Wheel.

There was plenty for everyone including food, crafts and activities for all members of the family.

Western Beaver Scores Early and Often Against New Brighton

(New Brighton, Pa.) It was a beautiful night for football and Homecoming on Oak Hill in New Brighton as the Lions hosted the Golden Beavers from Western Beaver.

The Golden Beavers scored off of the opening kick-off  to take a 7-0 lead early. The Lions then fumbled on their first possession and the Golden Beavers capitalized on that and went up 13-0. In a first half that seemed to last a very long time the Golden Beavers dominated the Lions and came away with 54-7 half-time lead.

The second half of the game was played under the mercy rule and the Golden Beavers came away with a 60-13 victory.

Two Eagle Scouts and Volunteers Recognized in Patterson Township

(Patterson Twp., Beaver County, Pa.) It was a special night at the Patterson Township Commissioners meeting on Thursday night as Pa. State Representative Jim Marshall  presented a citation to former Patterson Township Commissioner Eric Hoover for leading a  park restoration project at the park. Beaver County Commissioner Jack Manning  also presented a proclamation from the county. Two Eagle Scouts AJ  Trzcinski and Andrew Spinneweber worked on the project. Trzcinski said two staircases  were built  and about 150 yards of leveling was done on the park’s trails. The project started in  May and was completed by the end of August.

The sons of the American Revolution led the entire project  with volunteers for the  park. They were instrumental in the first Remember 9-1-1 5k trail run  on September 10 in the township.

MAC & Parkway Races Take Center Stage In Week 7 High School Football Coverage On Beaver County Radio

With teams being three games away from the postseason, the Friday night lights will shine brightest on those who showcase the hardest, fullest, and most consistent efforts on the high school gridirons.

New Brighton (0-7) will seek its first win of the season as they welcome Western Beaver (6-1) for Class 2A Midwestern Conference action on 99.3 FM, 1230 WBVP, BCR Video Platforms and the Trib Live High School Sports Network. The Lions are coming off an 18-13 nailbiter loss to Ellwood City last week, while the Golden Beavers look to make it four in a row after last week’s 49-21 defeat of Riverside. Mike Azadian and John Perrotto have the call from Oak Hill Field beginning with pregame at 6:30 PM and kickoff slated for 7:00 PM.

On 95.7 FM and 1460 WMBA tonight–along with the Trib Live High School Sports Network–Central Valley (7-0) looks to continue their undefeated streak as they travel to Ambridge (1-6) in Class 4A Parkway action. The Bridgers were on the losing end of a shutout in Week 6, falling 40-0 to West Allegheny. Conversely, the Warriors were the architects of a shutout–their third consecutive–with a 43-0 win at Montour. Rob Matzie and Bruce Frey have the call from Moe Rubenstein Stadium with pregame at 6:30 PM and kickoff slated for 7:00 PM.
