A STRUCTURE FIRE IN ALIQUIPPA SHUT DOWN A PORTION OF FRANKLIN AVENUE FOR A PERIOD OF TIME YESTERDAY AFTERNOON. SEVERAL AREA FIRE DEPARTMENTS WERE CALLED SHORTLY AFTER 4 P-M. TO THE 700 BLOCK OF FRANKLIN AVENUE. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE CAUSE OF THAT FIRE IS NOW UNDER INVESTIGATION.

Rochester Giant Eagle To Pursue Liquor License
THE ROCHESTER TOWNSHIP GIANT EAGLE STORE LOCATED ALONG MADISON STREET IS IN THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO SECURE A LIQUOR LICENSE TO SELL WINE AND BEER. GIANT EAGLE ALREADY SELLS ALCOHOL IN ABOUT 45 LOCATIONS ACROSS WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA. GIANT EAGLE OFFICIALS WILL BE ON HAND FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON JUNE 19TH AT ROCHESTER’S BOROUGH BUILDING. THAT HEARING WILL START AT 6 P-M. ROCHESTER’S COUNCIL WILL THEN MAKE A RECOMMENDATION ON WHETHER TO APPROVE OR DENY THE LIQUOR LICENSE TRANSFER. BUT FINAL DECISION ON APPROVAL WILL BE MADE BY THE STATE LIQUOR CONTROL BOARD.
Warehouse Space To Be Built Near Turnpike In Big Beaver
A PROMINENT DEVELOPER PLANS TO BUILD ONE-MILLION SQUARE FEET OF WAREHOUSE SPACE IN BIG BEAVER. PAT NARDELLI HAS PURCHASED 100 ACRES NEAR THE PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE AND INTERSTATE 376 FOR A REPORTED THREE MILLION DOLLARS. THE PROPERTY IS LOCATED OFF FAIRLANE BOULEVARD. NO WORD ON HOW MANY BUILDINGS WILL BE PUT ON THE PROPERTY.
Generations Marketplace: The New Flea Market In Beaver County
The Beaver County Radio Prize Van and Personality Prize Wheel appeared at the Big Knob Grange for the Generations Marketplace. Generations, founded by Paula Johnston of Generations Photography & Special Gift Shoppe in Beaver, is a public market featuring local distributors and consultants, that is open from 7 AM to 3 PM on Saturdays at Big Knob.

A crash occurred on Old Darlington Road near Jack’s Independent Service station in Darlington Township Friday afternoon.
One person was killed and another was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital,
The victim, 23-year-old Travis Douglas of Darlington died at the scene.
Harmony Twp. Police Officer facing Charges
41-year-old Jason Vular, a sergeant with the Harmony Township Police Department is facing charges for allegedly driving into two vehicles after visiting a bar Friday night.
Sources say that Vular went to Tequila Cowboy after Friday night’s Pirates game and drove into two vehicles in a parking lot.
Missing Kayaker likely found
The body of a white female in a bathing suit was pulled from the Ohio River just before 5 p.m. Sunday, according to Beaver County officials. The body was found near the Leetsdale boat launch next to a barge on the Aliquippa side of the river, according to Beaver County Coroner David Gabauer
The family of a 25-year-old Coraopolis woman who was swept over a dam nine days ago while kayaking said they are “99.5 percent sure” it is likely their loved one.
