New Sewickley Police are searching for a missing teenage girl. 15-year-old Jessica Coburn has been missing for over a month and is currently being considered a runaway. Coburn has ties to the Uniontown and Turtle Creek areas, but police have been unable to determine her location. She is 5’1′ tall with brown hair and brown eyes, has piercings in her ears and upper lip and has a tattoo of a miniature cupcake on her right thumb and a tattoo of birds extending from her right thumb to her wrist. Police Arrest Man, 18, Accused of Raping Teens At Knifepoint in New Castle
New Castle police say an 18-year-old man was arrested Thursday in connection with the rapes of two teenagers that occurred in December. Authorities say Gary Brewton was arrested based on evidence located at the crime scene. Detectives say a masked man jumped the two girls, ages 17 and 18, as they were walking in the area of Logan Street and Boyles Avenue in New Castle on Dec. 17. The girls said at first they thought they were being robbed, telling police that the man threw them to the ground and demanded all of their money. They said at that point, he pulled out a huge knife and held it to the necks of the girls. Police say he then sexually assaulted both teenagers before fleeing the area. Brewton is facing numerous charges, including four counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault and six counts of robbery.

Beaver County Could Offer 128 Buyouts
An early-exit buyout may be available to as many as 128 Beaver County employees. Commissioner Dan Camp says this buyout is another of county officials’ efforts to cut costs. Workers eligible for this buyout under the current plan would be workers who are 50 years old and have 25 years of service, those who are 55 and have 20 years of service, and those who are 60 and have 15 years of service. Commissioners Chairwoman Sandie Egley says when the plan is finalized, eligible employees will have four weeks to decide whether to participate in the buyout. Both Camp and Egley made those comments during the Ask The Commissioners segment of Teleforum with Mike Romigh earlier today on Beaver County Radio, 1230 WBVP and 1460 WMBA.
Aliquippa Council Announces Start Of New PennDOT Project
Aliquippa City Council met last night and announced that preliminary work by PennDOT on the much-needed Kennedy Boulevard project has begun. Beaver County Radio news correspondent Sandy Giordano reports that the area from the Stone Arch to the Broadhead Road intersection will be reconstructed. In other business, Wilbur Moreland was appointed to the Aliquippa Municipal Water Authority Board to fill a vacancy effective immediately. Michael Ranieri was appointed to fill a vacancy on the city’s planning commission.
Ambridge Man Charged With Robbing Aliquippa Food Mart At Gunpoint
An Ambridge man has been charged with robbing the Aliquippa Food Mart at gunpoint. Police say 19-year-old Harlan Snipes and an unidentified man threatened a store clerk with a pistol, then fled the store with $500 on February 17. Snipes returned to the Aliquippa Food Mart on February 20, wearing the same ski mask and hooded sweatshirt from the robbery. Aliquippa police have charged Snipes with robbery and other crimes.
New Brighton Man Arraigned In Ellwood City Shooting
A New Brighton man was arraigned on Wednesday after he had been accused of firing shots at a house on Division Avenue in Ellwood City. Ellwood City police say that the shooter – 27-year-old Justin Bryant – was arguing with a married couple outside their home when he pulled out a handgun and fired five shots at the house. Bryant had reportedly been dating the couple’s daughter and lived at the residence at the time of the incident. Police charged Bryant with aggravated assault, making terroristic threats and other charges.

(Bridgewater, PA) Beaver County Radio hosted another edition of “Coaches Corner” live on the Sports Patio/Winter Lodge at Robert’s Roadside Inn Wednesday evening. Special guests included Beaver Falls Head Coach Doug Biega and several Tigers Players, and Nick Lackovich from Aliquippa and many of his Quip basketball players. Both coaches talked about winning their respective WPIAL Championship games this past weekend and how they are preparing for the start of PIAA playoffs beginning on Friday.
On Friday, March 4, Beaver Falls will take on Steel Valley with air time at 5:30 on WBVP and WMBA. On Saturday March 5, Aliquippa takes on Tyrone in it’s first round of state playoff action. Air time for that broadcast on WMBA is 5:00 P.M.

Beaver County D.A. David Lozier Talks To Mike Romigh About Tackling Heroin Crisis
Beaver County District Attorney David Lozier says the ongoing heroin crisis in Beaver County is huge. Lozier told Mike Romigh on Teleforum this morning that the problem isn’t just limited to Beaver Falls and Aliquippa, rather it’s a county-wide epidemic. Lozier says his office is trying to tackle the problem by working together with the police chiefs and various police departments and agencies throughout the county.
