Beaver County, PA) Join Frank Sparks, host of Teleforum and Scott Tady, Entertainment Editor for the Beaver County Times, this Thursday for a special edition of “Notes On Local Entertainment” on the Beaver County Radio Sound Stage from 11:00 A.M. to noon on Beaver County Radio, 1230 WBVP and 1460 WMBA. It’s the show dedicated to promoting the local music and entertainment scene in Beaver County.
This week Frank and Scott will have the Justin Wade Band performing Live on on the Sound stage . The guys will also get you set for a huge weekend of Entertainment in Beaver County. Beaver County Making Progress In On-Line Auction
At a short work session yesterday, Beaver County commissioner Sandie Egley chaired the meeting due to the absence of Dan Camp because of illness. Commissioners heard from solicitor Garen Fedeles and assistant solicitor Nate Morgan concerning the forthcoming on-line auction of unwanted items. Fedeles says items are being gathered at several locations and Morgan said a self imposed deadline of this Friday has been set to have all items ready for auctioneer Matt Hostetter to photograph, inventory and upload. The process should take about a week and the auction will be ready to go on-line about two weeks later
Power Outages Reported In Beaver County
More than 12,000 households and businesses are without power due to strong winds that have been sweeping the Beaver Valley today. Duquesne Light has reported about 7,000 of its customers are without power as downed trees on power lines have damaged the utility company’s equipment throughout Beaver and Allegheny counties. Penn Power reported about 5,700 of its customers are without power in Beaver County…as well as in Allegheny, Butler, Washington, Westmoreland and Armstrong. It’s unclear when power would be restored. Gusty winds are expected to continue throughout the day and more outages are possible. The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory this morning, which is in effect until 8 p.m. Wind gusts of up to 50 mph are expected. Meanwhile, fallen trees and downed power lines blocked many roadways during morning rush hour, including along Brodhead Road in Moon.

Firefighters Battle Flames In Center Township House Fire
EMERGENCY RESPONDERS WERE CALLED TO A FIRE AT A HOME IN CENTER TOWNSHIP LAST NIGHT. FIREFIGHTING CREWS FROM CENTER, ALIQUIPPA AND ROCHESTER BATTLED THE FLAMES AND SMOKE AT A HOUSE IN THE 100 BLOCK OF SKYVIEW DRIVE IN CENTER. THE FIRE BROKE OUT AROUND 5 P-M. THE FIRE APPEARED TO BE IN THE GARAGE OF THE HOME. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED AND STILL NO WORD ON WHAT CAUSED THE BLAZE.
Car Into House Accident In North Sewickley Leaves Driver Seriously Injured
A motorist was taken to the hospital after crashing into a North Sewickley Township home early this morning. According to police, the crash happened near the intersection of Mercer and Brighton roads in North Sewickley just before 3 this morning. The vehicle went off the road, through some bushes and struck the chimney, which scattered bricks and debris throughout the yard. The homeowners were asleep at the time of the crash, but were not hurt, although their home sustained significant damage. The driver, however, suffered serious injuries and was flown to a local hospital. The victim is listed in serious condition.
