“Our mission as an organization is simple: We want to raise funds to end Alzheimer’s.”

The Greater PA Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will be hosting the Beaver Walk To End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, October 1 at the Gazebo in Irvine Park. Registration will begin at 8:00 AM and the opening ceremonies will start at 9:00 AM. The ceremonies include the Promise Garden, followed by a walk of 1 to 2 miles throughout downtown Beaver before closing ceremonies.

Participants can register online as well at this link for the walk; they can also donate funds to individuals and teams raising funds for the occasion. Further information about the fight to end Alzheimer’s Disease by the Alzheimer’s Association can be found at their website: alz.org.

“It’s good to have the old favorites…but when you’re going through an event like this, you want to try something that’s new.”

The Ambridge Regional Chamber Of Commerce will be hosting their 2022 Autumn Ale Walk on Saturday, October 8 in downtown Ambridge, with 25 local businesses being the place to taste 25 different beers along with different food treats and their daily operations on display. ARCC Director Bill Roehm joined Matt Drzik on the September 29 edition of A.M. Beaver County to talk about what holding this Ale Walk means for Ambridge.

Tickets to the Autumn Ale Walk are $25, and the tickets can be purchased on the Ambridge Regional Chamber of Commerce website. Anyone who purchases a ticket with the promo code “BEAVERCOUNTYRADIO” before midnight on September 30 will get 10% off their purchase order. “It really is trending us into the future of the world.”

Tri-County McDonald’s owner Meghan Sweeney sat down with Matt Drzik on the September 23 edition of A.M. Beaver County to talk about the fully renovated McD’s location in Beaver Falls. The renovation of the building is part of the company’s “Experience Of The Future” campaign, which has introduced several modern upgrades to the building designs as well as the numerous ways in which to order traditional items from the menu.

The Beaver Falls location is the penultimate location to be renovated; one is left on the list, and the time for its renovation has come. “Starting on October 10th,” Sweeney stated, “the McDonald’s on Pleasant Drive in Center Township will be renovated.” The new upgrades will include a newly digitized drive-thru menu along with a pickup kiosk for mobile orders and other online purchases.

As autumn arrives, so does the reminder that there is hope for those who are struggling.

Kate Lowery & Javerta Sims joined Matt Drzik on the September 23 edition of A.M. Beaver County to discuss the 2nd Annual Recovery Walk taking place at Brady’s Run Park on Saturday, September 24 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. The event is presented by the Beaver County Drug Abuse Coalition.

The event will feature live entertainment, inspirational speeches, food trucks, and the several informational stations for those who are–or someone who knows someone–struggling with substance abuse. Beaver County Radio will be there with the Prize Caddy and the Personality Prize Wheel, with Frank Sparks providing live updates from Brady’s Run Park.

“It’s a season that I don’t think you can miss, for a price you just can’t beat.”

Starting on October 7, the latest Highmark Subscription Series of Shows–entitled “Who Could Ask For Anything More?”–kicks off at the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center in Midland with Stephen Sondheim’s “Into The Woods”. It is the first of eight shows on the schedule for the 2022-23 season, which features a variety of styles and plots for experienced show-goers and first-timers.

Justin Fortunato, the Producing Artistic Director at the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center, spoke with A.M. Beaver County’s Matt Drzik on the September 21 edition of the show about the Highmark Subscription Series, which in past years has drawn an electric reaction from students at Lincoln Park. “I can certainly say with full confidence that excitement, that invigoration hasn’t faded at all,” Fortunato stated. “If anything, we’re even more excited to continue our mission to bring affordable, accessible, and high-premium art to Beaver County.”

Ten years and seven locations later, Dr. Shawn Richey and Dr. Jared Yevins are continuing to help those suffering with neuropathy to get proper treatment and for those who aren’t aware of their neuropathy to achieve awareness. The duo met with Matt Drzik on the September 21 edition of A.M. Beaver County to discuss an upcoming information seminar for those who are struggling with neuropathy or know someone who is.

The seminar will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 13 at the Fairfield Inn in Monaca. Those who attend will learn the basics of neuropathy and how it is discovered, compounded, detected and then treated; a special offer for a free consultation, examination and treatment will also be part of the seminar.

“Ambridge will be the place to be this weekend, for sure.”

That exclamation from Kim Villella is a bold one, but justified as the Ambridge Fall Festival of Churches returns this weekend to the borough on September 24 for the first time since 2019. She and borough manager Mario Leone joined Matt Drzik on the September 19 edition of A.M. Beaver County to preview all of the different elements that will be on display of sound and vision this Saturday.

The event begins with a parade that starts the festivities at 11:00 AM, which will begin at The parade will end at P.J. Caul Park, where the day’s festivities will be headquartered. The opening ceremonies will commence with a welcome from Leone and State Representative Rob Matzie presiding as the emcee. At noon, all of the church bells in Ambridge will formally begin the festivities, which will run until 6:00 PM and feature the tastes and sounds of the many faith-based cultures that have created Ambridge’s culture.
